Sweet as crème brûlée, gentle for life
A small family operation raising the happiest, healthiest puppies we can — in our home and under-foot from day one.

A small family operation
We breed for an exceptional temperament and health, with clearances for hips, elbows, eyes and heart, along with full DNA genetic testing — so we never breed puppies affected by the genetic diseases common in Golden Retrievers.
Our puppies are raised in our home and under-foot from day one. We use a combination of AviDog and Puppy Culture for early socialization, counterconditioning and desensitization, and Early Neurological Stimulation starts at 3 days old. Our puppies leave us litter box, doggie door and crate trained, with a default Safety-Recall imprinted — and many go on to work in the Service Dog industry.
About us
Hi, we're Edward and Yvette, the family behind Crème Brûlée Goldens in Roseville, just outside Sacramento.
We raise Golden Retrievers Across the Full Spectrum of the Breed in our home, and every litter grows up right in the middle of our family life. Over the years something special happened: our puppies started going to work. Today you'll find Crème Brûlée Goldens with police departments, fire stations, probation teams, therapy programs, Medical Alert service dogs for Diabetes, Psychatric PTSD, Seizure alert and plenty more curled up on family couches. Honestly, we're just as proud that our program has been able to help so many.
How we raise them
A calm, confident dog starts long before go-home day, so we give our puppies a lot to get used to while they're little and everything is still an adventure:
- Sounds of the job. Sirens, air horns, radio chatter and the occasional surprise bang, always at a pace that keeps them relaxed.
- People in gear. Friends in firefighter turnouts, police vests, helmets and masks stop by, so a big uniform just means "someone fun to sniff."
- New ground. Slick floors, metal grates, ramps and odd surfaces, so new places feel normal instead of scary.
- Staying calm with people. We spend time with them while things around them get loud or emotional, and reward them for settling in close.
Two kinds of homes
Service, facility and peer support
Our puppies are evaluated as prospects for the people who look after our communities and those who need them. They go on to their trainers and handlers, and many end up as peer support dogs for firefighters and officers, or as facility therapy dogs and service careers. Their job is to be a steady, friendly presence after a hard shift or taking of someones unique needs. You can meet some of them on our Service Dogs page.
Family companions
You don't have to work at a fire station to want a dog like this! The same early start makes a wonderful family dog: patient with kids, easygoing when the house gets busy, and happiest right next to you.
Our promise
Health, temperament and the Golden structure of the breed come first in every pairing we choose. We put our whole hearts into these babies so that when they walk into your station or your living room, they're ready to be part of your life.
We don't just raise puppies. We raise your next anchor.

The Sacramento Heritage
We plan only a few litters a year. Join the waitlist to hear first — and once a litter arrives you can watch the puppies grow live on our Twitch puppy cam.

So you're ready for a puppy?
Here are the steps you'll go through.
Interview
A one-on-one phone or Zoom call directly with our head breeder, to make sure you're fully equipped for your puppy picking experience. At this time we take a first come, first served deposit for picking order.
Watch your puppy grow
Within the first few weeks we live stream our puppies, so you can watch them grow day by day as their personalities blossom.
Puppy picking
At 8 weeks old they're ready to go home. Everyone picks in the order the deposits were taken — though the puppies end up picking the humans.
Grandma for life
Yvette, the true leader of the pack, reserves the right to be Grandma for Life — she asks every new pawrent to open an Instagram account for their furbaby so she can watch them grow.

What our families say
Yvette and Ed are extremely knowledgeable from start to finish about Golden Retrievers and adding a puppy/ dog to your family - that being from first talking to them about the idea of getting the puppy all the way from after the pups are born, learning all the ins and outs about bringing the puppy into your home and then actually bringing the puppy home. I would recommend Creme Brûlée Goldens one hundred times over. Some things may seem like too much or overwhelming but I can say from first hand experience that being able to contact them whenever about whatever is such a blessing. You don't get that kind of service from anyone. Yvette and Ed truly love all of their adult dogs and puppies alike and it shows! And if something they recommend seems like too much or "overkill", it's not. Listen to them. They want nothing but the best for these dogs from the time they are born to bringing them into your home. This is our boy Jake, his parents are Remy and Jazz
Our experience with bringing home our sweet puppy Toby was wonderful because of Creme Brulee Goldens. We felt so prepared and equipped on what to expect upon brining him home- due to all of the time Yvette and Ed put into both raising the these little pups their first 8 weeks, but also thoroughly preparing the new puppy parents-to-be. From regular zoom meetings to many recommendations on products, health links, and availability on their part for any questions/concerns about our puppy....I truly couldn't have asked for a better experience than Creme Brulee Goldens. Our little Toby has been the sweetest natured and loveable puppy... it's obvious how much love and care he recieved at his first home which he made the transition to his forever home that much sweeter.
We had the best experience with Yvette and Ed! Yvette was so amazing (and patient!) as we were going through the process of adopting our pup. She's also incredibly knowledgeable and took so much time to walk us through care, nutrition, etc. Cannot recommend Creme Brulee enough!!
